Welcome everyone, we are back for YCS Sydney 2025!
It is the 10th YCS we have had on this continent and we have had many great stories to tell, many comraderies formed, many rivalries shared and over the years have had a number of international visitors make their way over to play – and I can safely say, every one of them walked away with positive stories to tell.
We have moved to a different location – this time we’re at the lovely Rosehill Racecourse; just a short 10 minute drive from the previous venue and I can safely say it has been very well received with its larger playing space and freely available parking.

YCS Sydney has come to an end and we have crowned our champion.
In first place with his Ryzeal Deck, it’s Freddy Cammel – who went undefeated in Swiss for a clean 15-0 record. He takes home another trophy for Melbourne, keeping up the heated rivalry between Sydney and Melbourne.
In second place, we have Andrew Udal from Bundaberg up in Queensland. Impressive finish for his first ever YCS, showing people how strong Maliss can be.
For Bronze, we have Kunlun Lei with his Blue-Eyes White Dragon Deck. Having been a Worlds Championship competitor before, he’s able to show he wasn’t just a one-event wonder and will be around for years to come.
In 4th place, we have Brandon Joyce from all the way in Perth, also with a Maliss Deck. Determined to bring a win out west, he played valiantly and I’m sure we will see more of him around.

We had 896 competitors in the Main Event this weekend, but we also had a lot of interest for public events with over 80 Win-a-Mat events being ran, as well as both Giant Card and Time Wizard tournaments hitting capacity.
The Time Wizard tournament was ran in the very popular 2010 format, with the winner being Kerrod from Newcastle, playing a Plant Deck featuring Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis defeating a Blackwing – Vayu the Emblem of Honor Deck in the Finals to take home the giant Judgment Dragon.
We hope to see you all back next year, and I can safely say the passion that Duelists have for this game in both current format and Time Wizard format is stronger than ever!
