YCS Sydney 2025 Coverage - Round 9 Feature

Welcome to day 2 of YCS Sydney 2025. This round we have Hayat Azarikirah, who is sitting on 6 wins and 2 draws - so technically undefeated, while Ben Greco sits on 7 wins and 1 loss. Both players want to win, to have a more comfortable time going into the final round of Swiss.

Game 1

Hayat opens a hand of Mulcharmy Fuwalos, Effect Veiler, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Infinite Impermanence and Sword Ryzeal.

Ben has a hand of Infinite Impermanence, Metaltronus, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Bonfire, Ext Ryzeal.

Ben starts with Bonfire and Hayat considers his to stop it but decides not to. Ben searches Ice Ryzeal and Normal Summons it. Hayat uses Mulcharmy Fuwalos, to which Ben responds with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Hayat continues with Effect Veiler on the Ice Ryzeal. Ben sends Eclipse Twins to Special Summon Ext Ryzeal, which is met with Hayat’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Ext Ryzeal and Ice Ryzeal are used to go into Ryzeal Duo Drive but its effect is stopped by Infinite Impermanence. Ben sets 2 and passes.

Hayat draws an Infinite Impermanence for turn and starts with Sword Ryzeal. Ben uses Metaltronus to Special Summon his own Sword Ryzeal and banish both Sword Ryzeal. Hayat sets his Infinite Impermanence in the same column as Ben’s other set card and passes.

Ben draws Ext Ryzeal. He once again attempts to use Ryzeal Duo Drive effect to search, but Hayat once again stops it with Infinite Impermanence. Ben then Special Summons Ext Ryzeal with Mereologic Aggregator and searches Sword Ryzeal, Special Summoning it - which searches Ice Ryzeal. Sword Ryzeal and Ext Ryzeal are used to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator, attaching the Mereological Aggregator. Ben attacks directly with Ryzeal Duo Drive and Ryzeal Detonator.Hayat draws Ext Ryzeal and Special Summons it, sending a Mereologic Aggregator. Hayat attempts to search with Ext Ryzeal and negate Ryzeal Detonator with Mereologic Aggregator, but Ben uses his set Infinite Impermanence on Ext Ryzeal. Hayat ends his turn and in Ben’s Draw Phase concedes Game 1.

Game 2

Hayat opens a hand of Sword Ryzeal, Ext Ryzeal, Ryzeal Cross, and 2 copies of Infinite Impermanence. Ben will play with Fabled Lurrie, Nibiru the Primal Being, Mulcharmy Purlia, Ice Ryzeal and Node Ryzeal.

Hayat will go first, but Ben immediately uses Mulcharmy Purulia. Hayat uses Ext Ryzeal, sending Mereologic Aggregator to Special Summon itself, searching Sword Ryzeal and Special Summoning that with Ben using his Mulcharmy Fuwalos that he had just drawn. Hayat searches Ice Ryzeal and then uses Sword Ryzeal and Ext Ryzeal to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator and attaches the Mereologic Aggregator. Hayat activates Ryzeal Cross and sets his 2 copies of Infinite Impermanence.

Ben starts with Fiendsmith Engraver to search Fiendsmith’s Tract, and uses it to add Fiendsmith Engraver and send Fabled Lurrie from his hand to the Graveyard, which Special Summons itself. Fabled Lurrie is used to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem, which tributes itself to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears, sending Fiendsmith in Paradise. Fiendsmith Engraver shuffles Lurrie back to the Deck and Special Summons itself. Ben uses Lacrima the Crimson Tears and Fiendsmith Engraver to Synchro Summon Chaos Angel, but its effect to banish is stopped by Infinite Impermanence. Ben proceeds to Normal Summon Ice Ryzeal and uses its effect to Special Summon Ext Ryzeal, while Hayat uses his Ryzeal Detonator to destroy Chaos Angel. Ice Ryzeal and Ext Ryzeal are used to make Ryzeal Detonator, using its effect to attach Lacrima the Crimson Tears. During the Battle Phase, Ben attacks Hayat’s Ryzeal Detonator with his own and both players detach a material from their detonator. Ben ends his turn.

Hayat draws and goes to Battle Phase, attacking Ryzeal Detonator with his Ryzeal Detonator and once again, both players detach a material. Hayat in Main Phase 2 Normal Summons Ice Ryzeal. Ben uses Ryzeal Detonator, but Hayat has Infinite Impermanence. Ice Ryzeal Special Summons Ext Ryzeal, which adds Node Ryzeal. Ben now uses Droll & Lock Bird. Hayat uses Lacrima the Crimson Tears to shuffle itself into the Deck from the Graveyard to Special Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem from the Graveyard, which is then tributed to Special Summon the recently shuffled back Lacrima the Crimson Tears, sending Fiendsmith in Paradise from Deck to Graveyard. Hayat uses Ext Ryzeal and Ice Ryzeal to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Duo Drive, using its effect to attach a material - but Ben responds with Fiendsmith in Paradise to send Fiendsmith’s Desirae. Hayat attaches Sword Ryzeal under Ryzeal Duo Drive and Fiendsmith’s Desirae shuffles back Fiendsmith Engraver to target Ryzeal Duo Drive, but Hayat negates it with Ryzeal Cross. Hayat Special Summons Node Ryzeal, using its effect to send his Ryzeal Detonator to Special Summon Sword Ryzeal from the Graveyard. Sword Ryzeal and Node Ryzeal are used to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator, using its effect to attach a material, but at this point Ben uses Nibiru the Primal Being - tributing all monsters and summoning a Primal Being Token to Hayat’s Field (9700/8200), effectively ending Hayat’s turn.

Ben draws Bonfire for turn and starts off with it, adding Ice Ryzeal. He discards Fiendsmith Engraver for its effect to add Fiendsmith’s Tract and uses it - adding and discarding Fabled Lurrie, which Special Summons itself. Fabled Lurrie is used to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Requiem, which is tributed for its effect to Special Summon Lacrima the Crimson Tears, which sends Fiendsmith Engraver from Deck. Fiendsmith’s Requiem is equipped to Fiendsmith Engraver, which Ben uses to send both Fiendsmith’s Requiem and the Primal Being Token. Lacrima the Crimson Tears and Fiendsmith Engraver are used to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Sequence, but realised his Fiendsmith’s Desirae is in the Graveyard. He Normal Summons Ice Ryzeal to Special Summon Sword Ryzeal, adding Ext Ryzeal. Sword Ryzeal and Ice Ryzeal are used to Xyz Summon Ryzeal Detonator, and using its effect to attach Fiendsmith’s Desirae under it. Ben follows up using Fiendsmith’s Sequence and Nibiru the Primal Being to Link Summon Fiendsmith’s Agnumday. In the Battle Phase, he attacks with Fiendsmith’s Agnumday, Ryzeal Detonator and then uses Fiendsmith’s Agnumday to Special Summon Fiendsmith Engraver and equip itself to the Fiendsmith Engraver - attacking directly for over 8000 total damage.
