BASIC INFORMATION

Q: What are Premiere! Events?

Premiere! Events are events that provide the opportunity to preview an upcoming set at an Official Tournament Store (OTS). Premiere! Events are primarily non-competitive events but still require a high standard of sportsmanship from the Duelists.

To participate in the BPRO Premiere!, you purchase a minimum of five (5) packs of BPRO and enter your CARD GAME ID into the BPRO Premiere Participation Event. Duelists will have the opportunity to purchase additional packs of BPRO (while supplies last). Each OTS may set limits on how many additional packs you can purchase to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to purchase extra packs.

In addition to the opportunity to purchase packs of BPRO at Premiere! Events, your OTS can host a Premiere! Event Tournament! Any Duelist that purchases packs of BPRO can participate in the Premiere! Event Tournament at no extra cost. Premiere! Event Tournaments let you use your new BPRO cards in your Advanced Constructed or Genesys Decks to try them out a week before they are legal for tournament play!

Q: When and where is the Premiere! Event?

BPRO Premiere! Events will be held on Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday, January 30, 2026 – February 1, 2026. Please contact the OTS for exact date(s) and time(s) and format for their Premiere! Event. A list of locations for currently scheduled Premiere! Events can be found online at https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/core-booster-premiere/.

Q: What is the attendance capacity for the Premiere! Event?

Due to local regulations and policies specific to each OTS, those hosting an in-store Premiere! Event may have a seating capacity and may vary from location to location. If you have any additional questions, please contact the OTS directly at the phone number that corresponds with the event in the Premiere! Event listings page.

Q: How do I enter a Premiere! Event?

Duelists in the United States will pay $22.50 USD ($33.75 CAD in Canada) to receive five (5) Booster Packs and registration in the event, no exceptions. Sales tax and fees will be charged for the Premiere! Event if such taxes and fees apply in your area. This will also entitle you to entry into any Premiere! Event Tournaments. All Duelists entering the BPRO Premiere! Event will receive the following items upon payment, while supplies last:

  • 5 BPRO Booster Packs
  • 1 BPRO Field Center Card* (FCC)

*While supplies last

With paid entry into the Premiere! Event, you are able to participate in any Premiere! Event Tournaments the store may be hosting at no additional charge.

Q: What are the prizes for the Premiere! Event?

Every Duelist who purchases a minimum of five (5) Booster Packs of BPRO will receive a BPRO FCC* with their purchase and be entered into a drawing to win exclusive prizes including a BPRO Game Mat* and the K9-X “Ripper/M” Promo Card*.

* While supplies last

In addition to the items you receive upon registering for the Premiere! Event, you are also eligible to win an exclusiveBPRO Game Mat and K9-X “Ripper/M” Promo Card. Premiere! Event Game Mats and Promo Cards may be distributed via two methods:

  • If the OTS is running a Premiere! Event Tournament(s), up to half of the Game Mats and Promo Cards from the kit may be used as prizing, while the rest are given out randomly as either door prizes or through drawings to those that purchased BPRO Booster Packs during the Premiere! Event.
  • If the OTS is not running a Premiere! Event Tournament, all of the Game Mats and Promo Cards from the kit will be given out randomly as either door prizes or through drawings to those that purchased BPRO Booster Packs during the Premiere! Event.

If you win a Premiere! Event Game Mat as a prize in a Premiere! Event Tournament, you are not eligible to win one of the Game Mats as a door prize or drawing. Similarly, if you win a Premiere! Event Promo Card as a prize in the Premiere! Event Tournament, you are not eligible to win one of the Promo Cards as a door prize or drawing. If you win a Promo Card or Game Mat prior to winning one in the Premiere! Event Tournament, the tournament prize would go to the next eligible Duelist in the tournament.

Premiere! participants are only eligible to win a maximum of one (1) Premiere! Game Mat and one (1) Promo Card per location for the entire weekend.

Q: Will there be a tournament run in conjunction with the Premiere! Event?

OTS have the option to conduct the Premiere! Event Tournament in one of 2 formats:

  1. Advanced Format
  2. Genesys Format

Whichever format the OTS selects will be a Tier 1 event, with Swiss Rounds where Duelists are allowed to add their new cards from BPRO to their Decks to try them out a week before they are tournament legal!

Decks must be constructed according to the latest Advanced Format or Genesys guidelines. (See here for more information on Advanced Format: http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/limited/) For Genesys, you can click here.

Q: How do Premiere! Event Tournaments work?

OTS may offer this additional tournament(s) as part of the Premiere! Event festivities, by advertising it ahead of time. The number of tournaments each store is allowed to host will vary by store. You should check with the OTS to see if they will be running a Premiere! Event Tournament(s) in conjunction with their Premiere! Event.

Only Duelists who have registered and purchased entry into the Premiere! Event are eligible to participate in a Premiere! Event Tournament. No additional registration fee can be charged.

Premiere! Event Tournaments cannot be run outside of the scheduled Premiere! Event hours.

While you may only purchase one Premiere! Event entry per location per day, you may compete in multiple Premiere! Event Tournaments a day if the OTS is offering more than one tournament. No additional registration fees will be charged. This is because all Premiere! Event Tournaments are included as part of the same Premiere! Event registration fee you paid when you purchased your five (5) packs.

Each Duelist is eligible to receive a maximum of 1 Game Mat and 1 Promo Card per location throughout the weekend.

You must have a valid CARD GAME ID and be in good standing in order to participate in a Premiere! Event.

If you do not have a CARD GAME ID, please see the What is Yu-Gi-Oh! NEURON (NEURON) and how can it help me with obtaining or registering a CARD GAME ID? for instructions on how to get one.

Premiere! Event Tournaments are considered to be Official but not Sanctioned. This means that the tournaments will not affect the Duelist’s Yu-Gi-Oh! NEURON (KONAMI CARD GAME NETWORK) or KCGN Ratings & Rankings. The winner of each Premiere! Event Tournament will win one (1) Premiere! Event Game Mat.

Q: Will I need to complete and turn in a Deck List?

No. Deck Lists are not required for any Premiere! Event Tournaments.

Q: What cards are legal for play?

The cards that are legal for play for the BPRO Premiere! will depend on the format selected by the OTS.

If the OTS conducts the event as an Advanced Format tournament, all rules for such events will apply. Please check the “Products” page online at https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/products/ for an updated look at the legality dates of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME product releases, prior to preparing your Deck for the event.

Advanced Format tournaments use a specific list of playable cards. Some cards are forbidden from use, or limited to a set number in the Deck, in order to better balance tournament play. The Advanced Format list changes periodically. Duelists can view the most current Advanced Format card list by going to the Deck Construction page on our website and then clicking on the link in the Forbidden and Limited Lists section.

Deck Construction Rules – Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME

If the OTS conducts the event as a Genesys Format tournament, the following rules apply:

  1. No Link Monsters or Pendulum Monsters are allowed. All other cards are allowed. The original field layout is used, with no Extra Monster Zones nor Pendulum Zones.
  2. The standard Forbidden & Limited Cards list is not used. All those cards can be used, except Link Monsters and Pendulum Monsters. Usual limit of 3 copies max of any card still applies.
  3. Deck construction uses a point system. Some cards are assigned a point value; most cards cost zero points. The total point cost of cards in your Main Deck, Extra Deck, and Side Deck (combined) cannot exceed the point cap for that event.
  4. The standard point cap is 100, but events can be run with any point cap, or even a zero-point cap! Official Tournament Stores can set their own caps for their tournaments.

Genesys Format tournaments use a points list. Duelists can view the current list of cards with points by going to the Deck Construction page on our website and then clicking on the link in the Genesys section.

Deck Construction Rules – Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME

Constructed Decks for Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG tournaments must meet specific guidelines for use in the event. Duelists must ensure that their Decks meet these requirements before entering an event. A Duelist’s Deck includes their Main Deck and may include a Side Deck and/or an Extra Deck.

A Duelist may not have more than three (3) copies of any card included in their Main Deck, Side Deck, and Extra Deck combined.

Cards that have been altered from their original appearance with surface decoration may be used for play only if the alterations do not obscure any portion of the card text, make the illustration difficult to recognize, or make the card distinguishable from other cards in the Deck while it is face-down.

If a card’s surface decoration renders the card unrecognizable at first glance, then the card is not allowed for tournament play.

The Head Judge of the event has final arbitration on whether or not altered cards may be used at the tournament. Duelists are responsible for determining whether or not their altered cards are acceptable for use before the start of the tournament.

Q: Can I use OCG cards (cards printed for use in Japan and other Asian territories) in my Deck?

No, cards printed for Asian markets are not legal for play in TCG tournaments, even if you have a translation available. This includes Asian English cards.

The best way to determine if a card is legal for TCG tournaments is to check the card back. Located at the bottom right of the card back is the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME logo. Please see the table below for more clarification:

TCG Logo Legal for TCG Tournaments    Japanese OCG Logo Not legal for TCG Tournaments  Asian-English Logo Not legal for TCG Tournaments

Q: Can I use foreign language cards in my Deck?

You can use foreign language copies of legal-for-play cards printed for the TCG market, as long as you can show an official translation of the card, kept outside of your Deck and Deck box, when asked to do so by an opponent or tournament official. If an opponent or tournament official has difficulty reading the card text, make sure to have the full local language card name ready to ensure it can be found quickly in NEURON or the official Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Database.

Q: Can I play in more than one Premiere! Event?

Each Duelist may only purchase entry into the Premiere! Event once per day per location.

Once you have received your Premiere! Event items with entry, you are eligible to participate in any Premiere! Event Tournaments, if applicable, at that location.

Q: If I’ve never been to a Premiere! Event, what should I expect?

A list of participating OTS can be found at the bottom of our Premiere! Event webpage: https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/core-booster-premiere/

Premiere! Events are local-level events held at participating OTS and attract both casual and competitive Duelists who want to preview the upcoming Booster set before its official release date.

There are a lot of things you should do to make sure you are prepared before heading to the Premiere! Event.

Read over the list of things you will need for the event, and make sure you have everything.

When you get to the event, you will need to register to play. Please check with a staff member for instructions regarding registration.

Please arrive at your OTS early enough before the Premiere! Event is scheduled to start to ensure you will be properly registered for the event. Supplies are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis.

Duelists are responsible for paying attention to information from judges and/or tournament staff to understand what is going on. If Duelists have questions about the event either beforehand or while they are there, they should check with the OTS.

Before heading to the event, all Duelists should read over the KDE-US Tournament Policy and Penalty Guidelines carefully. These documents tell you what you can and cannot do at an event and give you a good idea of what to expect. You may find these Guidelines by clicking the following links.

Q: I want to judge at a Premiere! Event, instead of competing as a Duelist – how do I request to participate?

Premiere! Events do not require Official KONAMI Judges. Some OTS will opt to have an Official KONAMI Judge as it provides Duelists with a better event experience.

If you’re interested in judging, you should contact the OTS for the Premiere! Event as soon as possible (use the contact number provided in the Premiere! Event Locator listing). Most OTS are always on the lookout for Judge Staff, so be prepared to provide your full name, contact information, including e-mail and phone number, and a description of your previous judging experience.

Q: Who should I contact for more information about a specific Premiere! Event?

Your best resource for answers about a specific Premiere! Event is the contact number listed on the BPRO Premiere! Event Locator listing:

https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/core-booster-premiere/locations/

KDE-US won’t be able to answer questions such as “How do I get to the venue?,” “Where should I park?,” “When does registration start?,” and so forth. For questions such as these, you will need to contact the OTS directly.

If you have more general questions about Premiere! Events, you can send them to us-opsupport@kde-us.com. Please be as detailed as possible, so we can try to provide you with the answers you’re seeking!

Q: What is Yu-Gi-Oh! NEURON (NEURON) and how can it help me with obtaining or registering a CARD GAME ID?

NEURON is a free tournament support app for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME for iOS and Android Smart devices and can be found on the app store or by clicking on this link:

https://www.konami.com/yugioh/neuron/en/

This app is the best way to obtain a CARD GAME ID if you are new to participating in events. You can also register an already existing CARD GAME ID if you already have one.

For those joining our events for the first time, obtaining a CARD GAME ID is as easy as downloading the app. Once downloaded follow the steps below:

  • On the bottom menu screen, select Data.
  • Once there, your CARD GAME ID will appear at the top of the screen.

This CARD GAME ID will be used when registering for any Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Sanctioned events which include our Tier 1 local events, Tier 2 Regional Qualifiers and OTS Championships, Tier 3 YCS events, and even Tier 4 World Championship Qualifier events.

If you already have a CARD GAME ID and would like to register it on the NEURON app, you can click here for a full guide on how to link your CARD GAME ID to your NEURON App.

If you previously had a COSSY ID, that same number will carry over as your CARD GAME ID.

If you do not remember your 10-digit CARD GAME ID, please reach out to us-opsupport@kde-us.com for help in getting your correct CARD GAME ID into NEURON before the event. Duelists should avoid acquiring new CARD GAME IDs if the previous ID can be found.

NEURON allows for fast and accurate Deck List submission, official card rulings, Life Points tracking, and quick access to the most up-to-date card information. Additional details and features of the NEURON app can be found here:

https://www.konami.com/yugioh/neuron/en/

Q: I would like to provide feedback to KDE-US concerning the Premiere! Event I attended, who should I contact?

If you attended one of our Premiere! Events and would like to send us feedback, you can send us an e-mail about your specific event by e-mailing us at us-opsupport@kde-us.com, with the header line “North America BPRO Premiere! Event Feedback [Store Name]”. All feedback, including comments about the OTS, the judges, or the event itself, will be welcome! All feedback is always kept confidential. Please make sure your e-mail includes which Premiere! Event you attended, including date and location.

PREPARING FOR THE PREMIERE! EVENT

OTS retain the right to refuse service to Duelists who have engaged in criminal behavior, such as theft or violent conduct. OTS may contact KDE-US via us-penalty@kde-us.com if they have any questions about a Duelist’s eligibility to compete.

Any tournament official associated with or working an event cannot play in that specific event. This includes, but is not limited to, the Judge Staff, Scorekeeper, Event Staff, Store Owner, and Tournament Organizer.

Suspended persons may not enter the venue of a Premiere! Event, no exceptions. If a suspended person is discovered at the venue, they may be charged with offenses including but not limited to trespassing, as well as an extension of their suspension.

Q: What will I need to bring to a Premiere! Event?

You should bring any Dueling supplies you will need, such as paper and pen to track Life Points, dice or counters, extra sleeves to replace any that become damaged, and so forth. If you have a CARD GAME ID number, you should bring your number in case the OTS will need it. You’ll also need the registration fee for the Premiere! Event, as well as money for any incidentals (food, drink, etc.).

If you do not have a CARD GAME ID, please see the What is Yu-Gi-Oh! NEURON (NEURON) and how can it help me with obtaining or registering a CARD GAME ID? for instructions on how to get one.

You will be required to use your smart device with NEURON along with a form of ID in order to register for the event. When registering at the OTS, you will scan a QR code provided by the OTS in NEURON to register. When registering, you will need to present a photo ID to the OTS to confirm your name when registering. Acceptable forms of ID include current-year School ID cards, driver’s licenses, passports, or other government-issued identification documents.

If you are under the age of 16, you can bring in a copy of your birth certificate as proof of ID. Duelists under the age of 16 are required to have a parent or guardian read and sign the registration form in order to be eligible to participate in BPRO Premiere!.

Duelists who register or attempt to register under another Duelist’s name or CARD GAME ID number will be disqualified from the event, and risk suspension from KDE-US Organized Play events. Duelists are required to register with their legal name, as it appears on their form of ID. Nicknames may not be used when registering for the BPRO Premiere!. Initials to replace the First or Last Names may not be used when registering for BPRO Premiere!.

Q: What if I lost an item at a Premiere! Event?

Duelists are responsible for looking after their own belongings at the Premiere! Event. KDE-US, OTS, Staff, and Judges bear no responsibility for, and cannot be held liable for, any loss, theft or damage to the person or personal property of any attendee.

Duelists who lost items should seek the Lost & Found on-site. If the item is not found on-site, Duelists are encouraged to contact the OTS within a 60-day period on the chance the lost item has been turned in.

AT THE PREMIERE! EVENT

Q: How long will the Premiere! Event last?

The BPRO Premiere! Events will be held on Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday, January 30, 2026 – February 1, 2026. Please contact your participating OTS for the date and time they are running the Premiere! Event. A list of participating OTS can be found at the bottom of our Premiere! Event webpage: https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/core-booster-premiere/

Q: How long will the Premiere! Event Tournament last?

The number of Rounds is determined by the number of Duelists enrolled in the tournament. Please contact the OTS for additional format details. If the OTS has chosen to run the event using Swiss Rounds, the following chart will be used:

Number of Duelists*Number of Swiss RoundsPlayoff Top Cut (if advertised)
4 – 83 Rounds of SwissNone
9 – 164 Rounds of SwissTop 4
17 – 325 Rounds of SwissTop 4
33 or More6 Rounds of SwissTop 8

*Number of Duelists is based on how many total Duelists are enrolled in the tournament once registration closes. All Duelists added to the event after registration closes should not affect the number of Swiss Rounds. Playoff Top Cut is based on the total number of enrolled Duelists, which includes any late registrations.

ExamplesAfter registration closes, 32 Duelists have registered for the Premiere! Event tournament. This means that the Premiere! Event tournament will have 5 Rounds of Swiss. Two Duelists register late, beginning the tournament with a Round 1 Match Loss. Even though this brings the attendance total to 34, only 5 Rounds of Swiss are played. If a Playoff Top Cut has been advertised, the Playoff Top Cut will go from Top 4 to Top 8.

Q: Can I buy and sell cards from other Duelists at the event?

Each Premiere! Event location may have different buying, selling, or trading policies. Duelists should contact the OTS and inquire about that store’s policies regarding buying, selling, and trading.

Q: What is the time limit for each Round for the Premiere! Event Tournament?

Each Premiere! Event Tournament Swiss Round will consist of best 2-out-of-3 game Matches, with a 50-minute time limit.

Q: What happens if I am not done with my Match after 50 minutes?

If the Match does not finish within 50 minutes, the result will be a Double Loss.

  • When time ends in the Round, the Match is over. Neither Duelist may begin or continue any action that may take place in the Game.
  • If time expires and the Match has not finished it will be a Double Loss.
  • A Match is considered finished when one of the Duelists has either won two Duels or lost 2 Duels.
  • If a Duelist has won 1 Duels and the Match has not concluded after 50 minutes, the Match is a Double Loss
  • If the Duelists have completed 3 Duels without the Match finishing and there is time remaining in the Round, the Duelists will go into a 4th Duel.
