The 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship (YGOC) and 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh Dragon Duel Championship (YGODDC) are invite-only tournaments, where Duelists will be able to gather and compete for big prizes, acclaim and enjoy various attractions. There will be a Championship tournament for both Dragon Duel and older Duelists who have earned a World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) invite from the 2019 WCQ to now. The event as a whole is open to the public. Anyone wishing to attend to see the attractions, take part in various Public Events, or spectate the main tournaments are welcome to do so. Since there will not be a Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship 2022, your invite grants you entry into the 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Tournament AND will still roll over to the next World Championship Qualifier! The Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship will be a 3-Day Event. On Friday July 15th, Duelists who have not earned an invite will have the opportunity to compete in Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQs) to earn an invite to Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Tournament and the next WCQ. There will also be LCRs for the Dragon Duel Championship as well. Please see the Public Events Schedule for times. LCRs will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday July 15th, 2022, followed by additional public events that are open to everyone! The Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Tournament will be begin on Saturday July 16th, 2022. Remember, even if you do not earn an invite to compete in the Championship Tournament, there will be many Public Events and Attractions to participate in throughout the weekend!
COVID-19 Restrictions for the 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KDE-US) has adopted a mandatory vaccination policy to protect the safety of its attendees. Each attendee 5 years and older will be required to show proof of being up to date and fully vaccinated before entry. (This requirement may change depending on authorization of vaccines for the under 5 age group. We will update this FAQ as the situation evolves.) To be up to date and fully vaccinated, an attendee must have received their second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, plus their recommended Booster dose if eligible, at least two weeks prior to the event. Acceptable proof of COVID-19 vaccination includes;
To assist with the COVID-19 restrictions, KDE-US has partnered with CLEAR Health Pass. Duelists can sign up for free at https://clear.app.link/YUGIOHEVENTS and then upload their vaccination information with CLEAR to create a Yu-Gi-Oh! Event Pass that can be easily shown on their phone. Children under the age of 5 will not be required to show proof of vaccination, but instead must show documentation of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 24 hours of the event. The test must be a molecular or antigen test with Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Home tests will not be accepted. The documentation must show the test result, the type of test, the entity issuing the test, and the date of test. Attendees who are unable to receive a COVID-19 vaccine due to a medical condition must instead show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 24 hours of the event. In addition to the requirements listed above for showing proof of a negative test, these attendees must provide documentation from a healthcare provider verifying that the attendee has a medical exemption from vaccination. This verification must state the attendee’s name, the fact that the attendee is medically exempt, and must be signed by a healthcare provider. KDE-US will be checking proof of vaccination, proof of negative test results, and medical exemption documentation at the entrance of the event. KDE-US reserves the right to refuse entry to attendees who do not comply with this policy. Face Masks must be worn correctly (covering both mouth and nose) at all times during the event while attendees are inside Hall A. There will not be any concessions inside Hall A. Food and beverages may not be consumed at Tournament Tables or anywhere inside Hall A. Food and Beverage will be available outside the Hall. Duelists will be responsible for returning on time for any subsequent Matches during Tournaments. If a Duelist has a medical condition that would require them to have food or beverage during a Match, they should let the Head Judge know prior to the start of the event so we can see what accommodations can be made. If you have any questions regarding the COVID restrictions or the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship in general you can contact; KONAMI Representative: Matthew Weaver (Phone is monitored 9:00 AM PT to 7:00PM PT)

Here is the planned schedule and information to help Duelists do just that. In addition, this FAQ has information on many of the prizes that Duelists can compete for at the YGOC and YGODDC!

Q: Are there any registration fees for the YGOC and YGODDC? A: There is no registration fee for either the YGOC or YGODDC events as these are invite-only tournaments.
Q: Why is there no World Qualifying Points (WQP) Playoff on the Schedule? A: Since there will not be a Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship 2022, we had to make changes to acknowledge the efforts of players to earn WQP before the Pandemic and during Remote Duel, but we also wanted to avoid making it impossible for other Duelists to earn a spot in the World Qualifying Points Playoff in 2023, so we are making the following changes:
Q: Why should I register online for the YGOC or the YGODDC? A: As space is limited at the event, Duelists wanting to attend should take advantage of registering online to secure a seat. Waiting too long to decide to attend could mean the YGOC or the YGODDC could fill up and leave you only able to participate in Public Events if attending the event. Duelists who plan to attend the Championship event shouldn’t wait and should secure their seat in order to guarantee a chance to compete in either the YGOC or YGODDC! There is NO guarantee there will be any opportunity for On-Site Registration at the event.
Q: How do I register for the YGOC or the YGODDC? A: Duelists will need to register online to secure a seat to compete in either the YGOC or the YGODDC.
We urge you to register online for the event due to limited seating and have your vaccination status verified through the CLEAR Health Pass App, if you do not have a preferred method of showing your vaccination status already setup. You will be given a wristband once your status has been verified at the event. Please keep this wristband on at all times during the weekend (they are water resistant), so that you do not need to be checked each time you enter the venue. Checking in on Friday will ensure that your re-entry on Saturday morning will go more smoothly, allowing the event to start on time.
Q: When do I need to turn in my Deck List for the YGOC or the YGODDC? A: Deck Lists are due and need to be submitted online by 10:00 AM CT on Friday July 15, 2022. Registered Duelists who do not turn in their Deck List on time will automatically forfeit their seat in their tournament. While a Duelist does not need to submit a Deck List when they initially register, please do not wait until the last minute to turn it in.
Q: How do I turn in my Deck List for the YGOC or the YGODDC?? A: Please create your Deck List at https://yugiohregistration.com/Decks/MyDeckLists.aspx. Once you have created your Deck List, you can submit it at https://yugiohregistration.com/Events/MyEvents.aspx. Simply find the Submit Deck List link for the event to find the page where you can select the name of the Deck List you have created for the event. We recommend giving each Deck List you create a unique name, so that you don’t submit the incorrect Deck List.
If you encounter any issue at any time while submitting your list you can contact the registration site via email at ygoreg@thesidedeck.com.
Q: How do I check in at the YGOC or the YGODDC? A: Registered Duelists need to arrive on-site at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM (CT) Friday July 15, 2022, and follow the signs to verify their vaccination status and confirm their seats in the Championship Tournaments at Check-In. At this time, Duelists will receive their participation prizing. If you are not able to check in on Friday July 15th prior to 4:00 PM CT due to travel delays or other issues, you will need to contact the event staff by email ygochampionship@gmail.com no later than 11:00 AM on Friday July 15th to make alternative check-in arrangements.

YGOC Information |
YGOC Information
Q: What happens at the YGOC event? A: Due to the fact that the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship 2022 is not being held, we are hosting the YGOC events in place of a WCQ. Just like at a WCQ, these are big, exciting 3-day events that take place from Friday to Sunday. Duelists from all over will attend these events to compete for exclusive prizes and spend the weekend Dueling, trading, and hanging out with hundreds of other Yu-Gi-Oh! fans. In addition to the main Championship tournaments, there are numerous Public Events, like ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-A-Mat, Speed Duel, Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS (DUEL LINKS), Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL (MASTER DUEL), Rivalry of Warlords, and Regional Qualifier tournaments. There will also be various attractions and many OTS vendors to see. Competitive or casual, there is something for everyone to do at the 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship event.
Q: Are there any COVID requirements or procedures we must follow at the YGOC? A: Yes, please see the COVID-19 restrictions for the 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship section near the top of the FAQ.
Q: Do I need an invite to participate in the YGOC or YGODDC? A: Yes, all Duelists wishing to compete in either the 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Tournament or the Yu-Gi-Oh! Dragon Duel Championship Tournament will need to have earned an invite at any of the following;
Aside from the Main Tournaments, anyone wishing to attend the 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship to spectate or take part in any of the Public Events or Attractions do not need an invite to do that as the hall is open to the public and all are welcome as long as they abide by the COVID restrictions to enter.
Q: Will those same invites ALSO be good for the next WCQ? A: Yes, invitations earned for this event will roll over and also be valid for the next WCQ once it is announced! Your invite will not reset after the 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship as they normally would after a WCQ event. They will be good for both the 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship and the next WCQ event.
Q: If I qualified in Dragon Duel events, can I participate in either the YGOC or YGODDC? A: Duelists who have qualified in Dragon Duel events as listed above may choose to register to play in the 2022 YGOC instead of the 2022 YGODDC. Dragon Duelists may not register and/or participate in both events. A Dragon Duelist who is found to be entering or participating in both events will be disqualified and will not be able to compete in any other event, including Public Events at the 2022 YGOC. If a Dragon Duelists qualified during the 2019-2022 qualifying season but has since aged out of Dragon Duel tournaments (born 2007 or earlier), they would participate in the 2022 YGOC instead of the 2022 YGODDC.
Q: I won a YCS (either in-person or Remote Duel) between August 2019 and June 2022, or I am an Ultimate Duelist Series Invitational Champion. Are there any perks for me at the YGOC? A: All Duelists who had won a YCS event between August 2019 and June 2022 or those who won a UDS Championship Belt can register for the 20222 Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship as a VIP and enjoy VIP status at the YGOC. Please be sure to check-in at the VIP line at the event. Ultimate Duelist Invitational Champions are still required to bring and present their UDS Championship Belt in order to confirm their VIP status at check in on Friday July 15th, 2022.
Q: Will there be meal breaks during the tournament? A: There will be a 45-minute meal break on Day 1 to allow Duelists to eat, as food and drink are not allowed inside the tournament hall. Announcements will be made the Round prior to the start of the break and a 45-minute time clock will be set. Players who do not arrive for the next Round on time will incur tardiness penalties.
