Welcome back to the latest article in the Noble Knight Showcase!
Previously we’ve introduced new characters from the epic story of the Noble Knights,
but now it's time to reveal their latest Noble Arms, which they will acquire in Shadow Specters!

Equip only to a "Noble Knight" monster. It cannot be targeted by an opponent's card effects. During your turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 "Noble Knight" Xyz Monster you control; Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 "Noble Knight" Xyz Monster with a different name, by using that target as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon.) Xyz Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.) You can only use this effect of "Noble Arms - Excaliburn" once per turn.

When you first look at Noble Arms – Excaliburn, you may feel that something important is missing. Unlike all the other Noble Arms, it cannot re-equip itself to a Noble Knight when destroyed on the field. However, it makes up for this in other interesting ways.

Noble Arms – Excaliburn has a powerful effect, granting those who wield it protection from targeting. This means that your Noble Knight can only be destroyed by mass destruction, such as Black Rose Dragon or Dark Hole, or by battle.

Noble Arms – Excaliburn has an additional effect, which can only be used once per turn, but it opens up a new strategy for the deck. If Noble Arms – Excaliburn was sent to the Graveyard during a previous turn, you can banish it, and transform one Xyz Noble Knight Monster you control into another Xyz Noble Knight Monster!

But wait, isn’t there only one Xyz Noble Knight Monster? How can you summon a Noble Knight Xyz Monster with a different name from the Extra Deck then?

We all know that, at the moment, the only Noble Knight who is an Xyz Monster is their mighty leader, Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights. You’ve probably figured out by now though, that the magnificent order of the Noble Knights is still hiding at least one more secret. So be sure to keep an eye out for it!

Now let's take a look of the possibilities we have ahead of us, shall we?

First, equipping Noble Arms - Excaliburn to any of your Noble Knights will protect them from cards like Raigeki Break, Number 11: Big Eye, or Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear, to name but a few.

Excaliburn protects you from all the above!

After that Noble Knight has served its purpose, you can Xyz Summon Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights from your Extra Deck in order to send your Noble Arms – Excaliburn to the Graveyard. Alternatively, the effect of Noble Knight Borz can help with this.

Later in the game, once Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights has exhausted his strength, you can banish Excaliburn to Xyz Summon... well, this sentence will have to wait for closure, at least for now.

When Noble Knight Drystan is allied with his fellow Knights, like Noble Knight Gwalchavad, Noble Knight Medraut or Noble Knight Borz he will protect them from attacks and card effects, and this can even extend to other Monsters who join the fight alongside the Knights, such as Knight Day Grepher.

But what will protect Noble Knight Drystan? Noble Arms - Excaliburn of course!

If you manage to power up Noble Knight Drystan even further with Noble Arms - Caliburn or Noble Arms – Gallatin, not only will your opponent be unable to target any of your monsters with card effects, but they’ll also struggle to overcome him in battle too!

Noble Arms – Excaliburn also works great with Noble Arms of Destiny, making your Noble Knight nigh on invulnerable once a turn. Normally, the protection granted by Noble Arms of Destiny, can be bypassed by cards like Compulsory Evacuation Device, Dimensional Prison, or Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, but not so when combined with Noble Arms – Excaliburn!

One little thing worth noting is that the Xyz Monster summoned via Noble Arms – Excaliburn will be treated as Xyz Summoned, meaning that you will be able to bring him back to battlefield from the Graveyard with Call of the Haunted or Xyz Reborn. As a bonus, Noble Arms – Excaliburn will trigger “When this card is Xyz Summoned” effects!
