Synchro Monsters are BACK!!

After almost 2 years behind the scenes, Synchro Monsters make their triumphant return! Judgment of the Light comes with EIGHT new Synchro Monsters, most of which can go in ANY Deck. The set’s also full of great new Tuners like these, so there’s no excuse NOT to try out those awesome new Synchros!


Summoning the Masked Chameleon Tuner gets you another Synchro Material monster to go along with it – the perfect combo to do some really high-Level Synchro Summoning. Shapesister is a Tuner but also a Trap Monster, so you can Special Summon her at any time. And Cockadoodledoo’s Level and Summoning conditions are flexible, so you can use him as a Level 3, 4, or 5 Tuner.

Cosmic Devastation

How about the intergalactic devourer of worlds known as Star Eater? Star Eater is the very first Level 11 Synchro Monster, and it’s on the verge of destroying the entire universe!


The arrival of Star Eater cannot be stopped, and its attacks can’t be stopped either. It’s entirely unaffected by other cards while attacking, and its Summon cannot be blocked or responded to in any way.

The only thing to do is make sure that it’s on your side!


The White Sheep of the Family

Xyz Monster brothers Tiras, Keeper of Genesis and Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon have battled endlessly over the past two years. But now their brother, Armades, Keeper of Boundaries, has decided to put a stop to the fighting!


Armades specializes in disarming wards and making unstoppable pinpoint strikes. While he’s involved in battle, your opponents will find themselves unable to use cards or effects, but you’ll still have access to your entire arsenal. When you absolutely must win a battle, without interference, either on offense or defense, Armades Keeper of Boundaries is the ideal Synchro Monster!


The Will of Zera

Banishment is one of the worst fates for most monsters. But as the right hand of the heavens, the Angel of Zera represents a force so powerful that it cannot be banished – at least, not for long. That’s why every time this Synchro Monster is banished, it pops right back to the field next turn!


It doesn’t matter how many times Angel of Zera is banished, or even if it’s banished after being destroyed. It will always return.

This Angel also draws strength from the souls of the banished, gaining 100 ATK for each of your opponent’s banished cards. Banishment is a double-edged sword that is carelessly wielded by Duelists who are quick to banish their own cards as well as your own, but if they aren’t careful, Angel of Zera will make them pay!

The Immortal’s Quest

Stripped of his powers, and cast from the heavens, the immortal Bujintei Susanowo walks the earth under the mortal guise of Bujin Yamato. His mission: retrieve the Bujingi relics that contain his lost powers!


Bujin Yamato’s strategy is to hold fast on the field, drawing the Bujingi to himself and using their powers to turn aside attackers. But the Bujingi are no mere trinkets! Susanowo’s powers are so great, that the relics containing them take on lives of their own and fight alongside their former master!

Stage 2 of the Mecha Phantom Beast roadmap to conquest kicks off with 2 phenomenal Tuner monsters that’ll give your Mecha Phantom Beast Deck supreme Synchro Summoning power!


Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens make the perfect Synchro Material Monsters, and you can also Tribute them to adjust the Level of Mecha Phantom Beast Warbluran. Get the Levels just right and use Warbluran to Synchro Summon a Machine, and it’ll refund your Token right back!

Mecha Phantom Beast Blue Impala gives you the extremely rare and powerful ability to Synchro Summon using monsters in your hand as Materials, making it the perfect Tuner for Summoning the Mecha Phantom Beast’s very own Synchro Monster: Mecha Phantom Beast Concoruda!



The Brotherhood Burns Bright!

The Brotherhood of the Fire Fist has devised a new set of tactics revolving around Level 3 monsters! The key to this strategy is Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Rooster, a brave soul capable of recruiting new soldiers and refreshing your Fire Formations!


But that’s not the only new strategy they’ve developed! The Brotherhood has also furthered its Synchro Summon capability with a new Tuner and a new Synchro Monster!


Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Boar combines with any other Level 4 Fire Fist monster to Synchro Summon Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Kirin, a deadly warrior whose shadowy arts make your Fire Formations poisonous to enemy monsters!

New Number Monsters!

Hot off the heels of Number Hunters, 5 new Number Monsters are joining the fray! Transform your Number 39: Utopia into Number C39: Utopia Ray Victory with Yuma’s new Rank-Up Magic Numeron Force, a new Rank-Up-Magic card exclusively for Number Monsters. You can also use it to rank up Number 104: Masquerade into the Spell/Trap destroying, effect negating, hand disrupting, life point halving Number C104: Umbral Horror Masquerade, the highest-ATK Chaos Number Monster we’ve ever seen!

If you’re more defense-minded, try out Number 66: Master Key Beetle. It can protect any of your cards against destruction by card effects, and can save itself in a pinch by giving up one of the cards under its protection.



Cards For All!!

No booster set is complete without tons of cards that can go in tons of different Decks, and Judgment of the Light is no exception!

If you’re playing any kind of themed Deck, there’s a really good chance that most of your monsters share a Type and Attribute. Transmodify lets you upgrade a monster into a new monster from your Deck that’s the same Type and Attribute, but 1 Level higher. It’s a lot like a Rank-Up-Magic, just for your regular monsters!  For example, you can take any Level 3 Fire Fist monster and upgrade it into the Level 4 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear!

Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare curbs massive Special Summon sprees, negating the effect of a freshly Special Summoned monster and destroying it. Xyz Encore is an unstoppable answer to even the peskiest Xyz Monsters, reverting them into their individual Xyz Materials and downgrading their Levels so the same Xyz Monster can’t be Summoned with them, again!


You’ll also be able to get new cards for many of the hottest Decks of 2013! In addition to Fire Fist and Mecha Phantom Beast cards, you’ll find a new Fire King, a new Madolche monster, 2 new Coach monsters to help you Summon Coach King Giantrainer and CXyz Coach Lord Ultimatrainer from Number Hunters, and World of Prophecy - the final finale to the Spellbook Saga!
