El Segundo, CA (April 13, 2012) – Duelists from across the Midwest, eager to test their honed strategies and show off their fine-tuned Decks will get that opportunity April 28th - 29th as the Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS) comes to Chicagoland. Hundreds of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Duelists from the region are expected to participate in this premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG event from Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (Konami), to be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont (IL).
The YCS Chicago promises two days of incredible Dueling action, pitting Duelists in rigorous head-to-head competition, each one yearning to earn a spot at Sunday’s decisive Final Round and to ultimately attain the title of Champion.
Duelists will certainly want to come down to the convention center on Friday, April 27th to pre-register for the YCS Chicago Main Event from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. as those players upon pre-registering and submitting a Deck list will receive a series-exclusive YCS Token Card! Registration will begin again promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28th. Upon registering for the Main Event, Duelists will receive five Order of Chaos booster packs for participating in Konami’s YCS Dallas. Round One will start at 10:00 a.m. and the Top 16 or 32 YCS finishers (depending on attendance) will earn invitations to participate in the 2012 World Championship Qualifier.
At YCS Chicago, Konami will once again hold a Dragon Duel for younger players (for Duelists born 1999 or later). The top four finishers in the Dragon Duel events will receive a special Dragon Duel Champion’s Medal, a 2012 Regional Game Mat, a Dragon Duel t-shirt, and an invitation to their 2012 Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier, where they can earn an invitation to the inaugural Dragon Duel World Championship to be played at the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship to be held on August 11-12 in Tokyo, Japan.

Duelists can also participate in a wide variety of fun and challenging Public Events to push their Dueling skills to the limit! Konami will be conducting a host of events such as Regional Qualifiers, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Classic Drafts, Dawn of the Xyz Starter Tournaments, Retro Drafts and Win-A-Mats.
Konami will also have an eight-player, single-elimination Sealed Deck Tournament at YCS Chicago! This tournament format will feature the recently released Dragons Collide Structure Deck and each Sealed Deck Tournament winner will get an exclusive Dragons Collide Structure Deck Game Mat! For a $10 entry fee, each player will receive a sealed Dragons Collide Structure Deck and is required to use those cards in the box as their Deck for that event.
The Main Event winner, the two runners-up and winners of Sunday’s two Public Event playoffs will each be awarded a YCS prize card. The Main Event winner will take home an Ultra Rare version of the Blood Mefist prize card, with the other winners bringing home Super Rare versions.
