Dear Duelists,
today, we want to bring you the anxiously awaited news on this year’s main Yu-Gi-Oh! Event in Europe: On the last weekend of June, the best Yu-Gi-Oh! players of the continent will face each other over two days, to find out who will represent Europe at this year’s World Championship in Japan.
More than 400 players from 27 countries are qualified for this chance at the title of European Champion, a trip to Tokyo and one of the other prizes we’ll be awarding to the best Duelists. At the samt time, Duelists of 12 and younger will compete with the strongest competition in their age group, at the European Dragon Duel Championship.
The event will take place in the Grand Palais in the center of Lille in Northern France, which is well connected to Paris, London and Brussels and easily accessible from all over Europe.
While only players who qualified for the European Championship through their countries’ National Championship or National Dragon Duel Championship events, as well as the Top 4 of last year’s European Championship are eligible to play in the tournament, visitors and side event players are very welcome as well.
Registration will start at 8:00 on Saturday, and close at 09:30 for the main event, which starts at 10. Registration for the Dragon Duel event is from 09:00 to 10:00, with the tournament starting at 10:30. Day 1 should be finishing around 19:00 for both events, with a cut to Top 64 (Top 32 for Dragon Duel). Players who don’t make it to Day 2 will be awarded their prizes at the end of Saturday’s rounds, and are welcome to play side events on Sunday.
We will post more detailed information on the European Championship, and a full list of qualified players, on www.yugioh-card.com shortly. Meanwhile, if you have questions regarding the event, or are unsure if you’re qualified, please contact us at yugioh@konami-europe.net.
