National Championships

This is where the action is! Players from all over the country gather at this tournament to Duel for the title of “National Champion”, for a qualification to the European Championship and of course, for cool, exclusive prizes.

For 2010, some countries will have open Nationals, whereas others hold Nationals that require prior qualification at one of the National Qualifier tournaments. Please check the table below to find out what kind of Nationals is held in your country.

How to qualify for Nationals

Any player can participate in open Nationals.

Invitation-only Nationals are open to the following players:

  • Players who earned a qualification at one of that country’s National Qualifier tournaments;
  • Players who earned a qualification at one of that country’s Last Chance Qualifiers;
  • The 2009 National Champion;
  • The 2009 National Dragon Duel Champion.

Both types of Nationals can be attended only by players holding a permanent residence in that country.

A list of qualified players can be found on this page soon.

Dragon Duel

One of the side events offered at Nationals will be specifically designed towards junior players. This event will be open to all players born in 1997 or later, and it will offer prizes similar to the ones used at the main event. This Dragon Duel tournament is a stand-alone event: No qualification is necessary to compete in it, and it doesn’t offer any qualifications to higher-level events.
