Yu-Gi-Oh!

EVENTS

Welcome to the Duelist League!

The Duelist League is an event program where younger players can Duel against others in a non-competitive and casual environment. Here, you can gather experience with playing Yu-Gi-Oh! in official events without being forced to Duel against the more competitive players in a tournament structure. To make sure that these events aren’t dominated by older, more experienced tournament players, Duelist League events are open only to Duelists born 1998 or later.

What happens at Duelist League?

  1. Each Duelist League event is suggested to run a maximum of 2 hours.
  2. The format for Duelist League events is Open Dueling. This means you seek out you own opponents, and play at your own pace. Pairings are not required, and there are no rounds to start or stop.  It is a much more relaxed atmosphere for younger or beginning Duelists, as you can play any Duelist they want, as often as you choose. Store staff can help you find suitable opponents if necessary.
  3. Duelist League participants use Advanced Constructed Decks. Each Duel consists of only 1 game.
  4. At the beginning of each Duelist League session, you will receive 3 Duelist Tickets. These are special scorecards used to keep track of your success throughout the event.
  5. If you win a Duel, you will receive one of your opponent’s Duelist Tickets.

Are Duelist League events official tournaments?

Because Duelist League events are run as Open Dueling, they should not be run through COSSY, and their results will not be reflected in rankings and ratings.
How often is Duelist League?
Each local Tournament Organizer can decide when and how often he runs Duelist League events.

What can I win at Duelist League events?

  1. Once you have collected 5 Duelist Tickets from your opponents, you must turn them in, after which you can choose a prize card from the available selection.
  2. Once you lose your last Duelist Ticket, you will receive a random prize card.
  3. At the end of the 2 hour League session, if you haven’t yet earned a prize card, you can pick a prize card from the available selection. The Duelist with the most Duelist Tickets chooses first. In case of ties, the youngest Duelist picks first.
