Judge Program

For those players who want to know how good their rules knowledge is, we offer a rules comprehension test that contains 20 questions concerning game rules and card texts. This rules comprehension test (“RC-1”) is available in all major languages (English, Spanish, German, French, and Italian) and can be taken here: http://www.konami.com/yugioh/agegate.php.

  1. You can take the RC-1 if you are of 16 years or above and already have a COSSy ID (if you don’t have one, you can obtain one at any official Konami Tournament Store.
  2. Especially those players who have earned a judge level within the previous Organized Play program are encouraged to renew their certification with the new test.
  3. You should not discuss the content of the RC-1 with anyone else.
  4. If you finish the RC-1 with 16 or more correct answers (i.e. 80 %), you can call yourself “RC-1 certified”.
  5. Passing this test also enables you to join the Judge Program.

Interested players will be added to our judge mailing list to receive regular updates on game and tournament rules, judge solicitations for premier events, and other information to stay up to date. However, passing the RC-1 test doesn’t mean one has to become a judge. It is perfectly fine to take the test just to check one’s rules knowledge.

The judge program is designed to ensure that Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments across the globe are conducted according to the official tournament regulations. Judges do not only answer rules questions, they also serve the attending players by providing a comfortable play environment and maintaining tournament integrity. The high-level tournaments we have announced recently are the ideal proving ground for newly-certified judges, and we are looking forward to working with you in creating a vibrant and healthy Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament scene again! Please stay tuned to our website to stay up to date on future updates to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG community.
Please enjoy our new rules comprehension test. Good luck to everyone taking it!
