We walked away from the venue last night into a spectacular thunderstorm – perhaps an omen for some intense Dueling here today!
23 National competitors from 16 different countries are all present at the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s TRADING CARD GAME 2009 World Championship here in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan. Each is prepared to prove his country reigns supreme – while there was plenty of good natured conversation and trading earlier, everyone is now focused on their decks, their game, and their strategy because the title of World Champion of Yu-Gi-Oh! is once again up for the winning.
We invite you to follow along on the action as we bring you live, round-by-round updates of the tournament – today, the competitors will play out 5 rounds to choose the top 8 players to go on to Day 2 tomorrow. In addition to the last rounds of the World Championship, we’ll give you an exclusive look at all the many side events and other Yu-Gi-Oh! attractions going on during the Day 2 festivities.
