Day 1 of the biggest Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME tournament in North America is over! Over 1200 Duelists traveled here today to the David L Lawrence Convention Center to compete in the 2009 United States National Championship, destroying the attendance records for any tournament ever held on this continent.
It’s been a huge day, and after nine rounds of heated Dueling the tenth and final Swiss round has been postponed until tomorrow morning. Those steadfast competitors who have stuck with us to the finish will enjoy an evening’s rest before tackling Round 10 tomorrow.
Once that round is completed, 64 Duelists will go head-to-head in a winner-takes-all series of Single Elimination Duels. One Duelist will go all the way, winning six consecutive Duels to claim the title of National Champion. Nothing less will suffice – there is no room for error, and nothing but an undefeated record will be enough to win the Championship. Four Duelists will win the privilege of representing their country at the World Championship in Tokyo this August, but only one will earn the U.S. National Title. Join us bright and early tomorrow morning at 10 AM for the last rounds of the biggest tournament in North American history!
