YCS Information

Q: What happens at a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series event?

A: These are big, exciting 2-day events that take place from Saturday to Sunday.  Duelists from all over will attend these events to compete for exclusive prizes;  earn invites to their World Championship Qualifier;  and spend the weekend Dueling, trading, and  hanging out with hundreds of other Yu-Gi-Oh! fans.

In addition to the main Championship Series tournament  there are numerous Public Events, including tournaments specifically for Duelists born 2000 or later, and Regional Qualifier tournaments.  Competitive or casual, there is something for everyone to do at a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series weekend event.

Q: When do I turn in my Deck list for the YCS?

A: At YCS San Jose, Costa Rica we will be collecting your Deck list at registration.  This means that you must have a completed Deck list ready to hand in when you register for the YCS.  There will be one exception to this; if you Pre-Register on Friday, April 19th, you can turn in your Deck list when you Pre-Register or no later than 9:30 AM Saturday, April 20th or you will be awarded at least a first round Game Loss and will not be allowed to participate until a legal Deck list has been properly submitted

Q: When can I register for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series San Jose, Costa Rica?

A:  There are two opportunities to register for the Main Event. Duelists can register for the Main Event during Pre-Registration on Friday, April 19th, 2013 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM or during Registration on Saturday, April 20th, 2013 from 8:00 AM – 9:45 AM. If you choose to pre-register for the event on Friday, you will not need to show up and register on Saturday morning. Simply show up Saturday morning no later than 9:30 AM if you still need to turn in your Deck list, or by 9:45 AM if you have already handed in your Deck list, and your name will already be on the list for the 1st Round. The Player Meeting will occur while players are seated for the 1st Round of play, before play begins.

During Pre-Registration, players who have submitted their Deck List AND pre-registered for the Main Event will receive a YCS Token Card.  This Token Card will only be made available during Pre-Registration at our YCS events; players MUST register the Friday prior to the YCS and submit a complete Deck List during Pre-Registration in order to qualify for this prize.

Q: How much does it cost to enter the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series?

A: The entry fee for the tournament is the equivalent to $20.00 USD which is 10,500 Colones. With your entry fee, you will receive 3 booster packs ofthe current booster release (Cosmo Blazer).

Q: Are there any pack prizes apart from the three packs that everyone gets?

A: 9th - 16th place will each receive 24 booster packs of the current set (Cosmo Blazer).  This is the only product prize, outside of the 3 participation packs, that will be awarded.

Q: What is the format for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series?

A: Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series tournaments are Constructed events, which means each Duelist must bring his or her own Deck in order to compete. Decks must be constructed according to the latest Advanced Format guidelines. (See here for more information: http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/limited/#limited_adv).  The Advanced Format list is updated on March 1st, 2013.   You will need to make sure your Deck matches the correct format.

Q: How many rounds will the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series have?

A: The total number of Duelists once Registration closes on Saturday morning will determine the number of rounds that are played.

Q: How many Duelists will advance to Day 2?

A: If there are 513 – 1024 Duelists registered for the YCS, then the Top 128 Duelists OR all players with a minimum of 16 Points, whichever number is larger, will advance to Day 2.

Q: How many Duelists will advance to the Top Cut?

A: If there are 512 or fewer Duelists, the tournament will cut to Top 16 after all rounds of Swiss are completed.  If the Top Cut is 16 players, prizes will be awarded down to 16th place.

If there are 513 - 1024 Duelists, the tournament will cut to Top 32 after all rounds of Swiss are completed.  If the Top Cut is 32 players, prizes will be awarded down to 32nd place.

Q: What will I need to bring to a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series tournament?

A: You should bring a tournament-legal Deck as described above, along with any tournament supplies you will need;  such as paper and pen to track Life Points, dice or counters if you are using cards which require them, extra sleeves to replace any that become damaged, and so forth.  If you have a COSSY ID number, you should bring your number and barcode. You should bring a form of personal identification with a picture. You’ll also need the entry fee for the tournament, as well as money for your incidentals (food, drinks, Public Events, etc.).

Q: If I’ve never been to a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series tournament, what should I expect?

A: Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series are among the biggest of all Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments, and attract Duelists of all ages and skill levels.  Many Duelists travel great distances to attend the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series, so you can expect to meet hundreds of fellow Yu-Gi-Oh! fans from all over.

There are a lot of things you should do to make sure you are prepared before heading to the tournament.
Read over the list of things you will need for the tournament, and make sure you have everything.
You’ll have a better time at the event if you don’t have too many bulky or heavy possessions to carry around, as it can get crowded there on the floor.  Think ahead while you are planning what to bring with you.

When you get to the event, you will need to register in order to play. You can register on Friday from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM, or you can register on the morning of the event.  If you live in the area or arrive early enough on Friday, you should definitely register then. It will save you a lot of time the following morning.

If you need to register on the day of the event, get there early! Registration will open at 8:00 AM, and there will already be a line of people waiting. You’ll need to be in line by 9:45 AM, or you will not be able to enter the tournament when it begins. We will have to start without you, to make sure the event begins on time – you’ll still be able to play, but you will not be able to enter the tournament until the second round begins and you will start with a Round One Match loss.

To register, you’ll need a Registration form, a form of ID, your COSSY ID if you have one already, and the entry fee for the tournament.  You can get a Registration form at the event, or you can get one to print at home before the tournament by clicking on this link:

Make sure your Registration form is filled out completely before you reach the registration station. 

You will also need a COSSY ID card – this is the ID number used to track you in the tournament. If you don’t already have one, you will be able to get one at the tournament. Look for the COSSY ID station and get a card before you try to register.

If you have a COSSY ID and have lost or forgotten it, you can ask the COSSY ID station to look it up for you. If you’ve played in a previous event, they may be able to retrieve your number. The COSSY ID station is kept separately from the Registration stations, so if you do not have a COSSY ID number or need it looked up, be sure to go to the COSSY ID station before getting in line to register.

Once you have a completed Registration form and a COSSY ID, you can register for the tournament.

You will also need a Deck List. A Deck List is required to participate in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series tournament.  You can get a Deck List form at the event when you register, or you can download one to fill out ahead of time by clicking on this link:

This is an editable PDF, so you will be able to type the card names in this form, which should help as your Deck List needs to be legible and complete – write the name of each card in full, and write down how many copies you have in your Deck.

Your Deck List will be collected at Registration. Make sure your Deck List is ready before you reach the front of the Registration line.

Duelists are responsible for paying attention to information from judges and/or tournament staff in order to understand what is going on. If Duelists have questions about the event either beforehand or while they are there, they should check with the Event Manager.  

Before heading to the event, all Duelists should read over the KDE Tournament Policy and Penalty Guidelines carefully.   These documents tell you what you can and cannot do at an event, and give you a good idea of what to expect.  You may find these Guidelines by clicking the following links.

Remember, there is much more to do at a YCS than just compete in the main tournament.  There are lots of Public Events, vendors buying and selling cards, and other Duelists to trade with. Read over the FAQ carefully, and you’ll be off to a great start.

Q: I will be bringing my children to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series.  Is there anything I should know?

A: If your child was born in 2000 or later, there is a special tournament each day just for this age group, called a Dragon Duel.  You can find more information about Dragon Duels in the Public Events section of this FAQ.

We will have a Parents’ Area available, where parents can relax while their children are occupied in the tournament.  This area is open only to parents and their children. You are not required to stay on site, but we strongly recommend that you do, especially if your children are young or this is their first event.  Please know that the tournament staff cannot be responsible for looking after your children, or their possessions. Always make sure your child has a way to contact you, and is provided with any necessities such as food, drink, or extra money if you do not wish to remain in the tournament area.

When your child is preparing for the event, encourage him or her to leave any bulky or expensive possessions at home. Electronics and large collections of cards are hard to keep track of during a big tournament – your child will have a much easier day without having to worry about these kinds of items.

Trading cards is a big attraction at large tournaments, but if you are concerned about your child trading away valuable cards, talk to him or her before the event and set some guidelines. You can always have your child check with you before making a trade.

Q: Will the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series have the Bounty Feature?

A: Yes! We will be including the Bounty Feature forthe Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series. At the start of the tournament, a certain number of Duelists will be selected and tagged with Konami lanyards.  Each lanyard will bear a number, from 1 to 10. Each of these Bounty Duelists will begin the tournament with a stack of booster packs (4 packs per round) allotted to him or her.  So, for a 10-round tournament, the total Bounty on each Duelist would be 40 booster packs.

At the start of each round, 4 packs will be removed from each Bounty Duelist’s total, and placed in their Bounty Pile. If the Bounty Duelist wins, he or she receives 2 of the packs from the Bounty Pile, leaving the rest in the pile. If the Bounty Duelist loses, the opponent claims all of the packs in the Bounty Pile. At the end of each round, both the Bounty Duelist and the opponent must come up to the main stage so the winner can collect the packs.

The longer a Bounty Duelist goes undefeated, the more packs you can win if you beat him or her. If the Bounty Duelist goes undefeated, he or she will keep all the packs in his or her Bounty. Bounty Duelists are not eliminated by a loss. Once you’ve been tagged, you are a Bounty Duelist for as long as you are participating in the event.  The lanyard is yours to keep.

Bounty Duelists are chosen for a variety of reasons – including past performances at events, running an innovative or exciting deck, or maybe for wearing a really eye-catching hat.  Only players who have pre-registered for the tournament will be selected as a Bounty Duelist.If you are chosen, you don’t have to participate if you would rather not join in.

Q: Will there be meal breaks during the tournament?

A: There will not be any meal breaks scheduled into the tournament.

Q:  What if someone who came with me does not know how to play?

A: If someone who is attending the YCS that does not know how to play Yu-Gi-Oh!, do not worry.  We will have capable volunteers on site who will be more than happy to teach them how to play.

Q: What happens if I am not done with my Match after 40 minutes? (Swiss Rounds – Tier 2 Events)

A: Sometimes a Match will not be finished when the time ends for a round. If this happens, the Duelist should note whose turn it is when time is called, and raise their hands for a judge. The judge should be notified that the Match is ongoing and whose turn it is. The judge may or may not stay to supervise the End of Match procedure, but should ensure that both Duelists understand the following procedure.

Please follow these instructions when proceeding to End of Match procedures during the Swiss portion of the tournament:

  • Continue until the end of the current turn.
  • If the Duel is not over at the end of the turn, go to “Extra Turns.”
  • Extra Turns = Conduct (5) additional turns starting from the opponent’s turn.
  • If a win condition (a Duelist’s Life Points is reduced to 0 or an instant win condition such as the effect of Exodia the Forbidden One or Final Countdown) occurs within these (5) turns, the Duel ends as normal.
  • If a win condition does NOT occur within these (5) turns, the Duelist who has higher Life Points after the “Extra Turns” (5 turns) wins.
  • If both Duelists’ Life Points are the same after the “Extra Turns” are completed, the Duel is considered a Draw.
    • After the Duel is concluded, the Duelist who has won the most Duels is declared the winner of the Match. If both Duelists now have the same number of Duel wins, the Match is a Draw.
    • If both Duelists won one Duel and the third Duel ends in a Draw, the Match is considered to be a Draw.
    • If time is called before a Duel begins (during Side Decking, before drawing their opening Hands), and both Duelists have won the same number of Duels, the Match is considered to be a Draw.
    • If time is called before a Duel begins (during Side Decking, before drawing their opening Hands), and one Duelist has won more Duels, the Duelist with more wins is declared the winner of the Match.
    • Duelists may not choose to intentionally end a match in a Draw. Intentionally ending a Match in a Draw, or stalling to have a Match end in a Draw, is against tournament policy and could result in a Disqualification.

Match Draws may only occur during the Swiss portion of a tournament and only during End of Match procedures. Duelists may not intentionally end a Match in a Draw. Intentionally ending a Match in a Draw, or stalling to have a Match end in a Draw, is against tournament policy and could result in a Disqualification.

Q: What happens if I am not done with my Match after 40 minutes? (Swiss Rounds – Tier 1 Events and Single-Elimination)

A: During Single-Elimination rounds, if Duelists have not completed their matches during their allotted time limit, proceed to End of Match procedures. Please follow these instructions when proceeding to End of Match procedures during the Single-Elimination portion of the tournament:

  • Continue until the end of the current turn.
  • If the Duel did not end at the end of the turn, go to “Extra Turns.”
    • Extra Turns = Conduct (3) additional turns starting from the opponent’s turn.
  • If a win condition (a Duelist is reduced to 0 Life Points or an instant win condition such as the effect of Exodia the Forbidden One or Final Countdown) occurs within these (3) turns, the Duel ends as normal.
  • If a win condition does NOT occur within these (3) turns, the Duelist who has higher Life Points after the “Extra Turns” wins.
  • If both Duelists’ Life Points are the same after the “Extra Turns” are completed, then play will continue on a turn-by-turn basis, with the Duelist with the most Life Points at the end of a turn being declared the winner of that Game.
    • Life Points are checked after the turn has completed but before the opponent’s turn begins.
    • If a Duelist’s Life Points reach 0 or if a win condition occurs during the turn, normal game play rules apply.
  • Once the winner has been determined for the current Duel, the Match winner is determined.
    • If a Duelist has more wins than his or her opponent, that Duelist wins the Match.
    • If both Duelists have the same number of Duel wins, or if time is called in between Games of a Match, they will begin a new Duel with specific guidelines.
      • Neither Duelist may use his or her Side Deck.
      • Duelists must use a random method (die roll, coin flip, etc.) to determine who will go first.
      • The Duel will continue for a total of (4) turns, two turns for each Duelist, unless a Duelist manages to win the Duel before the (4) turns are up.
      • Once the four turns are completed, Life Point totals are compared and the Duelist with the highest Life Point total wins the Match.
      • If both Duelists’ Life Points are the same after the (4) turns are completed, then play will continue on a turn-by-turn basis, with the Duelist with the most Life Points at the end of a turn being declared the winner of that Game. Please use the same criteria listed above (Step 5).

 

Draws cannot occur during Single-Elimination. There must always be a winner.

All Public Events (except for the Dragon Duel tournament) are Tier 1 Events.

Duelists must be present for the start of the first round of each event for which they register, in order to receive the entry points.  You cannot register in more than one event at a time. If you register for an event while you are still enrolled in a previous event, you will forfeit all Public Event points for all events in which you are simultaneously registered. 

Q: What is a Swiss Round Tournament?

A: Players are paired off based on each player’s win/loss record. Players are not eliminated when they lose a match during Swiss tournaments – instead, they will continue to be paired against players with similar records for all remaining rounds of the event.

Q: What is a Single-Elimination Tournament?

A: Half of the tournament is eliminated after each round – the losing player is out of the tournament, while the winner goes on to the next round. This continues until only one player remains, which is then declared the winner.

Q: What is a Dragon Duel?

A: Dragon Duel tournaments are Advanced Format, Constructed events exclusive to Duelists born in 2000 or later. Dragon Duels give a chance to earn an invite to the Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier. It is run using Swiss Rounds without a Top Cut playoff.

Entry for a Dragon Duel tournament is Free

Participants are required to provide proof of age in order to participate in a Dragon Duel. Duelists must be born in 2000 or later.

A minimum of (4) Duelists is required to run a Dragon Duel tournament.

A Deck List is required for participation into a Dragon Duel. Dragon Duel tournaments are considered to be Tier 2 events.

Duelists who earn an invite in a Dragon Duel tournament or their guardian must fill out a copy the 2013 WCQ Invite Form prior to receiving their prizes.  A valid e-mail address must be provided for either the Duelist or the guardian.

Q: What are the prizes for the Dragon Duel?

A: Top ranked Duelists (based on attendance) in a Dragon Duel tournament will receive an invite to 2013 Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier, 2013 Regional Game Mat, a Dragon Duel Medal, and a Regional Deck Box.

Invites awarded in the Dragon Duel for the Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier are based off of attendance.

Duelists are required to complete and submit a WCQ Invite form on site. Prizes are not awarded until after the WCQ Invite forms have been completed and properly submitted.

Q: What are the rules for the 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling event?

A: The 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling event will be Advanced Format Constructed, with Swiss Rounds with no Playoff Cut and will use the Single-Elimination end of match procedure.

Players must use an uncut KDE Registration Form sheet to register for this event (3 Registration Forms per sheet). The top player is automatically Player A, the middle is Player B, and the bottom is Player C.

Player A is considered to be the Team Captain and is the primary point of contact in regards to administrative purposes.

Each team must register a Team Name. The Team Name must be written on the top of the Registration Form. Team Names may not be offensive or disrespectful in any manner. Event Staff reserve the right to request a new team name if they feel the name may be inappropriate.

Here are the basic rules:

  • When registering for the tournament, each team will designate one Duelist on the team to be Duelist A, one to be Duelist B, and one to be Duelist C.
    Team members must keep their team designation throughout the tournament.
  • At the start of the round, Duelist A will play against Duelist A, Duelist B will play against Duelist B, and Duelist C will play against Duelist C.  Team members play as individuals – they do not share cards, Decks, Life Points, etc.
  • All members of the team will play a best 2 out of 3 match.
  • The team with the most Match wins gets the win for the round.

Example of play:

Team 1 (Duelist A1, Duelist B1, and Duelist C1) and Team 2 (Duelist A2, Duelist B2, and Duelist C2) play each other in Round 1.

  • Duelist A1 sits across from Duelist A2, and they play each other, best 2 out of 3.
  • Duelist B1 sits across from Duelist B2, and they play each other, best 2 out of 3.
  • Duelist C1 sits across from Duelist C2, and they play each other, best 2 out of 3.

At the end of the Round, the teams compare Match wins.

  • Duelist A1 won the Match against Duelist A2.
  • Duelist B1 won the Match against Duelist B2.
  • Duelist C1 lost the Match against Duelist C2.

Since Team 1 has 2 Match wins, Team 1 wins the round.

Q: What are the rules for the Battle Pack: Epic Dawn Sealed Pack Tournament?

A:

  • The Duelists are seated in a random order at a table.
  • Each Duelist is then given 5 sealed Battle Packs.

◦These Battle Packs will not be the ones you play with and belong to another player.

  • You may choose to keep these packs by dropping from the tournament at this point.
  • Duelists then record each card they open on the Battle Pack: Epic Dawn Checklist

◦If there are any discrepancies with the packs opened, Duelists must call a Judge for assistance.

  • The Judge for the event gathers each card pool and randomly distributes them among the Duelists.
  • The Duelists verify what cards they receive with the checklist they receive.
  • The Duelists will then be given 20 minutes to look over their cards, build and sleeve their 20-card Main Deck (should they choose to sleeve their Deck, they must do so with tournament-legal sleeves).

◦Duelists must complete the Checklist listing which cards will be played in the Main Deck.

  • Once steps 2 thru 6 are completed, the Duelists will then Duel against their first-round opponent in a best 2-out of-3 match.

Q: What is the Duelist League and what are the rules?

A: The Duelist League is intended for younger Duelists or Duelists that are not familiar with Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments.  The Duelist League gives them a chance to experience tournament play without all the pressures found in higher level tournaments.
The Duelist League is an Advanced Format, Constructed event with 3 Rounds of Swiss with no Top Cut. At the end of the rounds of Swiss the Duelist ranked in 1st place will get to choose 2 Duelist League Rare cards from a random assortment.  Then from order of 2nd to 8th place those Duelists will get to choose 1 Duelist League Rare card.

Q: What is the Public Events playoff?

A: The Public Events playoff gives 8 hopeful Duelists a chance to win their very own copy of the coveted YCS Prize Card! There are two different playoffs, each of which awards the YCS Prize Card to the winner.

Playoff 1: The four Duelists who have accumulated the highest number of Public Event points will play two rounds of Single-Elimination to determine a winner, who will receive a Super Rare set of the YCS Prize Card. In case of a points total tie, the selection will be made by random drawing from the tied competitors.

Playoff 2:  Four names will be drawn at random from all Public Events entrants over the course of the weekend. These four competitors will then play two rounds of Single-Elimination to determine a winner, who will receive a Super Rare set of the YCS Prize Card.


Invitations

Q: Do I need an invitation to participate in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series?

A: You do not need an invitation to participate. This event is open to all Duelists.

Q: If I am not from a Central American country and I win the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series, do I get to play in the 2013 Central American World Championship Qualifier?

A: No, you will not. If the winner does not reside in a Central American country, he or she will win a trip to his or her own World Championship Qualifier event. He or she will not be eligible to compete in the Central American World Championship Qualifier.

Q: If I qualified in a Dragon Duel tournament (for players born in 2000 or later) can I play in the regular World Championship Qualifier?

A: Duelists who were born 2000 or later may choose to play in the Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier or the World Championship Qualifier that is held for all ages in their Region. They may not participate in both events.

Q: How and when will I receive my Invite?

A: A list of Duelists who have earned invites to a World Championship Qualifier is posted online. You can find the list here: http://www.yugioh-card.com/events/regionals/2013/qualifiers_lat-am.html.

  • You will not receive an invite or certificate in the mail.
  • You will not receive an invite or certificate via e-mail.
  • You will not be required to present any kind of certificate in order to enter a World Championship Qualifier.
  • Your name and information will be added to the Invite List, and that is proof that you qualified.
  • Information about your World Championship Qualifier will likewise be posted online – it will not be mailed or sent to you. Duelists are responsible to verify that their name appears on the appropriate Invite List, and to access posted information about their World Championship Qualifier by checking the www.yugioh-card.com/en/events page for updates.

If you have a question about your invite status, you can email la-opsupport@konami.com and ask. Please provide your full name, COSSY ID number, and the date and location of the event at which you qualified, along with your question, so we can answer you quickly and efficiently.

Please remember that invite status information isn’t automatically or instantly updated, so you should allow approximately 2-8 weeks after the conclusion of your event for results to be posted from your tournament.  

Q: Is travel or hotel included with my Invite?

A: Only the winner of each Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series tournament will receive paid travel and accommodations for their 2013 World Championship Qualifier tournament. Invites earned in any other way do not include travel or accommodations.

Q: Can I bring someone with me if I win the trip?

A: If you are 17 or younger at the time of travel, you will also receive travel and accommodations for a parent or guardian.  If you are 18 or older, you will win travel and accommodation for yourself only.

Q: What cards are legal for play?

A: Please check the “Products” page online at http://www.yugioh‐card.com/en/products/ for at the most current legality dates of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME product releases, prior to preparing your Deck for the event.

Q: Can I use OCG cards (cards printed for use in Japan and other Asian territories) in my Deck?

A: No, cards printed for Asian markets are not legal for play in TCG tournaments, even if you have a translation available.

Q: Can I use foreign language cards in my Deck?

A: You may use foreign-language copies of legal-for-play cards printed for the TCG market, as long as you can show an official translation of the card when asked to do so by an opponent or tournament official. Translations do not have to be a local language version of the card.  An official translation written down or printed is acceptable.  If you want to use a local language version of the card as your translation, you must keep that card outside of your Deck box. For English or Spanish language cards, you are not required to have an official translation.

A: If you’re interested in judging at a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series, please email KDE’s Judge Manager at us-judgesupport@konami.com.  We are always on the lookout for judges – please provide your full name, contact information including email and phone number, and a description of your previous judging experience. You can also request to be added to the KDE Judge Roster, which will enable you to receive additional information and updates about the Judge Program.  YCS Event Managers are not responsible for organizing the judge staff, so you will need to contact KDE directly if you want to judge.

Potential judges currently need to hold Konami certification in order to judge, all potential judges must pass the online Rulings Comprehension Level 1 test and be enrolled in the Konami judge program, in order to better prepare themselves for these prestigious events. Q: Will there be vendors on site so I can buy single cards and supplies and sell my cards?

A: There will be a number of vendors present, selling single cards, sealed product, and card supplies such as sleeves and deck boxes.  Vendors will also be buying cards on site.

Q: Can I buy and sell from other people at the event?

A: Duelists are not allowed to buy or sell from one another at Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series venues. If you do so, you risk incurring penalties, including being disqualified and removed from the event.

Q: I want to vend at a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series, who should I contact?

A: Vending space is available free of charge at Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series venues, but is only available to Official Tournament Stores in good standing. Vendors must meet certain requirements and agree to abide by set guidelines. Interested vendors should email la-opsupport@konami.com with the header “Request to Vend at [name and location of event].”  Vendors will be required to complete and submit an application for each event at which they wish to vend.   Keep in mind that KDE handles the applications for vending at Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series events, and not the Event Manager.

Cash transactions with anyone other than an approved vendor at an approved location are prohibited at Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series events.  Attendees who conduct cash transactions, such as selling of cards or product, to anyone other than an approved vendor at a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series event risk penalties including disqualification and expulsion from the venue.

Q: Where can I get food and drinks during the tournament?

A: There will be many options within walking distance of the venue.  There will also be a snackbar at the hotel venue.

Q: When will the schedule for other Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series tournaments be posted?

A: For updated information on this event and other events as they become finalized, keep checking www.yugioh-card.com/en/events . There is no set time frame for these announcements; they will be made as the information becomes available.

Q: Can I get a COSSY ID number at the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series tournament, or will I need to have one before I attend the event?

A: If you do not have a COSSY ID number, you can get one at the event.

Q: Will there be coverage of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series?

A: There will be blog-type online coverage of this event at www.yugioh-card.com/en/events.  Even if you’re unable to make it to the event, you can still be part of the action as the coverage page is updated with content from the tournament site.
